This is one of my favourites as I like the layers of colour and the brush marks that I created using the stylus tool. Colour scheme wise, I am sticking to the same colour scheme, as I think that this works really well with the aesthetic of the design of the letter, some feedback was that it related well to music and reflects positivity with the bright colours.

By then looking at the letter I in these chosen fonts, I have found it interesting to see the different ways that the letter itself, forms both capital and lowercase.

I have also been researching into Lucy Biggs letterspace project. I have found this particularly useful, to look at the ways each designer has approached their piece, with just 2 colours.

The letters that I have chosen in particular, reflect the textures in the designs, I particularly like the letter B, as the textures seem to reflect the way that the letter has been drawn out, it presents some really nice layers and I also really like the colour schemes of yellow and black. The yellow background is really striking and I like how it bursts through the marks in the letter.

Based on my tutor group feedback from this week, I felt inspired to try some more experiments after some suggestions from my peers and tutor. To begin, I sketched some of these ideas out; collaging letters together using my photoshoot, working the letter into the shape of the string pattern and animating a bouncing ball, experimenting with the letter in lowercase.

Based on the suggestion to experiment with photo collage, I have re-visited my photoshoot and selected particular ones to pair together, to form the letter 'I'. With some of these, I altered the layers style to darker colour, screen or dodge, to emphasise the white lines more. I like in particular the bottom right composition, as I think the wider frame on the top image adds a nice dimension for the viewers eyes, as they look from the top, to the bottom of the composition as a whole.

I do like the outcome of this piece, however I like how realistic the images are, and think the black background then makes it look quite artificial, so I'd like to see how the images would look on a different coloured background.

So I added a shadow to the letter using a black rectangle, and shaping it to the diagonal light hitting the frame, then lowering the opacity to 20%.

I also like to present any final outcomes on a drop shadow of a white background, to give a mock up style of a poster, this is something I have enjoyed doing for a long time with my work so enjoyed adding this into the presentation as as I think it makes it look more professional.
