This question relates to questions 4 and 5 of the CDM week 2 interactive quiz.

Question 4 asks: "If we are to build an ER model for genomic data, which of the following(s) are more likely to be the primary key?" - With the answer being Gene ID.

Question 5 asks: "If we are to build an ER model for genomic data, which of the following(s) are more likely to be the attributes?" Gene ID was not regarded as an attribute in this instance.

My understanding is that a primary key is an attribute that uniquely identifies an entity? Is this wrong and once it's regarded as a primary key it is no longer classed as an attribute? Or have I misinterpreted question 5?

Process vs Analyse

Hi Sabrina, I am wondering about the difference between the process and analyse stage of the data management cycle. I am struggling to distinguish between them as they both seem to pertain to converting the data into useful information. Is this something that would happen usually at the same time if they are quite similar? Thank you
