Owen and I will attempt to raise around 300 dollars by selling lemonade and cookies. We will sell these things on March 23-24th. We will make shirts and a sign so customers know where the proceeds go. We will also volunteer to help out with whatever we can for one day at one of their organization's locations.

Our sale went very well. We surpassed our goal of reaching $300. We ended up making exactly $650 with about $400 in Venmo. The weather wasn't very good for a lemonade stand so we only made around $250 from the actual sale.

Kanbe’s Markets is an organization that provides nutritious and affordable food for the hungry or people who don’t have easy access to the food they need. In 2017 Kanbe’s Markets was founded. They went from 1 location to 12 in 2020. Now, there are 50 locations all over the east side of Kansas City, producing fresh produce for the community. Food waste diversion is an important part of what Kanbe’s Markets does. They have redirected 500,000 pounds of produce ending up in landfills.

Kanbe’s Markets identified the hundreds of locally owned convenience stores, gas stations, and corner bodegas with deep ties in the community. The first Healthy Corner Store location began to sell fresh and affordable fruits and vegetables in 2018. Today, Kanbe's Markets provides fresh food access for over 250,000 residents. Kanbe’s Markets is working to change the way communities approach philanthropy.
