I had been writing a diary in my eTwinning Live, but thought it is time I learnt to use Padlet. It's not as easy as it looks. Teachers don't have time to do things that are not easy to use. OK so last week I was struggling with Padlet. This week, I could not attend the seminar, and now I am trying to watch it, I can't access it as the password does not work. 
As I couldn't attend the seminar I now am trying to make sure I attend an on line event. I have managed to arrange an on-line event myself. I just hope someone come to it, but as I will be running that tomorrow, I won't be able to attend someone else's at the same time! 
and of course, we have to remember to convert CET to GMT+1! Oh boy - you would have thought this would be easy - but everything has its issues.

Firstly, trying to attend an on line event - should be easy - but - I work during the hours when most teachers are attending on line events. So, finding one I could attend was not easy. 

Then - when I found ones that I could attend - I kept finding others getting there first so there was no room.

Then - my computer wouldn't connect using Adobe Connect, so I tried to uninstall Adobe connect. This went horribly wrong and it wouldn't reinstall, saying that a part of it was still there. When I followed the guidance to where this bit was, when I tried to delete it, it said I needed admin permission and I didn't have it! Well, it’s my own computer and I am the administrator, so goodness knows what my computer was thinking!

So, I closed it down and went to bed. Fortunately the next day, it had forgotten whatever it was that had gone wrong the day before which was very helpful, as I had an event of my own planned!

OK, so then, booking an event - fairly easy, but you do have to be careful of spelling - there isn't an automatic spell check. 

The event: would you believe it! I turned on my other computer (as I wasn't sure about my big computer from the day before) and my little computer began upgrading (I didn't say it could!) so there was no way it was going to be finished in time for MY event. So I turned on my big computer to find it DID work. Oh how happy :). I uploaded a very short and simple PowerPoint that I wanted to use. 

So, there I was talking to my friend and suddenly realised it was time to start. I thought "oh, could other attendees hear me?" hopefully not as I hadn't "started sharing". Phew! 

Two people attended my session at the beginning, but neither of them would talk to me. I was a bit concerned. I asked and typed in the chat to ask if they could hear me but they did not reply. 

Then a third person joined in. Now, I had stated in my event that it was for teachers of 11 to 16 year olds but the last person to join was a Kindergarten teacher. But that didn't matter. We had a good chat and I have added her to my contacts as I think I can help her with some eTwinning so it was all good. 

Then the time was up, so I said goodbye. And there you are - I had managed hosting my first eTwinning event! woo hoo! hooray! Makes me feel very happy and has boosted my confidence no end!
