Repetition where he said "doesn't it feel good to touch?" 3 times in a row. With his voice he also says it in three different manners which really resonated with me and how we are obsessed with our tech today.

I drew inspiration from his topic itself. The idea of what technology has done to our way of communication and interacting with each other. The topic itself is heavy and he was able to construct a very blunt way of discussing it that I admired.

I related to the part where he said "where there are voices that are only read and laughter is never heard". I relate to this because everything is online and we end up reading text and sitting behind a screen instead of talking to people in person.

Jones's use of a robotic tone and movements when reading out his poem would be helpful to utilize when reading my own poem. I probably wouldn't make it robotic, but change the style of my speaking and movements to reflect the message of my poem.

Every "click" in the poem really exaggerates each point that Jones makes regarding the effects of social media. It also helps to draw and reset our attention before our minds drone off in the long list of events Jones is bringing up.

Marshall uses an allusion to the Garden of Eden and the branches of Macintosh. It's a very jarring warning, and it appeals to a pre-constructed cultural symbol of forbidden things that seem appealing but will ultimately hurt you. It helps connect the poem to the world around it.

A line that resonated with me the most is "My smile is 50% genuine and 50% genuine HD" This is because most people will definitely smile more on social media than in real life but also it made me think that a smile is not worthy of its entirety when it's split between a smile and an HD one.

Really makes me want to use literary devices in my poem. Those literary devices can prove extremely beneficial at making the words I say stand out. -Kiernan

this whole poem is of course fill with allusions.
the first one he did I feel was the perfect way to draw in an audience.
"introducing the new Apple iPerson
complete with multitouch and volume control."
and while he said this, he was really robotic with his voice and hand movement.
he was an iPerson and I loved using that to draw in an audience.

Repeated three times straight from the pitch. At first it confused me, but the emphasis placed on a phrase describing something that we have so naturally brings to mind that while it's something we have unconditionally we may be throwing it away. Throughout the poem Jones utilizes repetition in a similar manner as well.

It introduced the influence live reading could introduce on the overall impact of the composition. As if some points absolutely required the live reading from the poet to truly express its prose.

His poem was inspiration because when he said "doesn't it feel to touch" in a way as if he was glitching like technology. I specifically liked these lines because it shows how advanced technology has created a barrier for human interaction and we base a lot of our lives around social media and technology.

near the end he said

this really hit me because I remember times, especially during covid, where I needed a hug but the best that can be done is an emote.

It doesn't feel the same hanging out with someone online than it does in person.

I believe that the style in which he is talking was very interesting and how he emphasized important parts/cimaxes in his poem that will capture the audience's attention with his movements.
