Harding was born in a Millerite settlement in Ohio to abolitionist parents (political opponents would later claim one of Harding's ancestors was African-American) . By the age of 11 Harding knew the basics of running a newspaper thanks to his father. Warren worked as a teacher and an insurance salesmen for a bit and tried studying law. Harding would then go into politics as the governor of Ohio and later as an Ohio state senator.
