Sandra's mother, Elvira, was her greatest influence above all. She started writing due to childhood loneliness and says that it shaped her passion for writing, as well as her mother who was a voracious reader. Much of her writing is heavily influenced by her Mexican heritage and is based on her life growing up. There are definitely recurring themes in her writing especially with aspects of her own culture and childhood strung through her stories.

I'd love to ask Ms. Cisneros her idea of a healthy relationship with writing and if she perceives her own writing as healthy.

Isabelle, Laakea

1) critics say that her book "The House on Mango Street" has the ability to latch onto a reader, but doesn't have anything to help "procure its memory", they say her writing style is "brilliantly executed", and she writes of her Mexican heritage, her work is relatable and makes the reader feel they can connect/relate to the book

2) Now that she’s older, has she been able to see herself in media?

4) Isaiah Grundy, Josiah Simmons, Chloe Lariosa, Novia Quijano
