         <title>Rates of gonorrhoea amongst gay men in Camden</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Rates of gonorrhoea increased by 11% between 2015 and 2016, with most cases being gay men who sleep with men (MSM).<br>In 2017 in the UK there were over 20,000 new diagnoses of gonorrhoea <br><br>MSM living in London account for 2% of the population but almost 25% of STI diagnoses. <br><br>There were 1514 new STI diagnoses per 100,000 people in Camden in 2017 (compared to 832 in Hillingdon and 501 in Havering. For gonorrhoea, there were 286 per 100,000 compared to 66 in Hillingdon and 53 in Havering.<br><br>Recent trends such as dating apps (Grindr) and recreational drug use (chemsex) amongst gay men has increased, hence the increase in STI rates.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Propose Health promotion intervention<br>Assess - By taking sexual history i.e about if there is new sexual partners if having more than one partners. 42% msm has two or more sexual partners. 35% has rectal gonocaccal infection. So reducing the prevalence of gonorrhoea in MSM requires the understanding why it’s so common in MSM. The anatomical sites of gonorrhea are urethra pharynx and rectum. Annual Screening  need to be more frequent to reduce gonorrhoea in MSM. Pre- exposure prophylaxis had been implemented for HIV screening-every 3 months, this same intervention could be beneficial  if use for MSM with gonorrhoea as intervention it could be sufficient to reduce this health priority  Also an antibacterial mouthwash which was proposed.<br>Health education-  <br>Sexual behaviour change - study had shown that  MSM are high risk of transmission of STIs  so encourage condom usage for safer sex, regular testing. Educate people on individual level I.e obstain from sexual actives during treatment, inform sexual partner/partners <br>community level intervention- address stigma  and discrimination associated with mental health and drug and alcohol abuse.<br>Black African and black Caribbean MSM are disproportionately affected  in different ways<br>continue with  counciling in clinical setting. and sending referrals <br>Using social media to increase knowledge at a faster rate-regarding STIs prevention, improvements and promotion also will display transparency to public<br>2011 a review literature found that 71% of earliest health promotion activities used Facebook, 30% target young people. </div>]]></description>
