Its located in the Nucleus of a cell and encodes all the instructions for all organisms to function. DNA is a nucleic acid and consists of two long biopolymers made of simpler units called nucleotides. Each nucleotide is composed of a nucleobase. Guanine, adenine, thymine, and cytosine and the four amino acids. They pair like A to T and C to G. When transribing DNA to mRNA the T is no longer used it is then replaced by a U so then the parirs are A to U and C to G. Pretty simple really. The two strands of DNA run in opposite directions to each other and are therefore anti-parallel.Within cells, DNA is organized into long structures called chromosomes.
