How do wind turbines work ?

Wind turbines are powered by the wind and only work when there is a large amount of wind. When this occurred the wind passes through the wind turbine and due to the angle of the blades makes the blades spin. Once the blades are spinning they produce energy through the generator that is connected by a wire cord. Energy is then produced. The wind turbine has an override feature to stop it from spinning to fast due to very high winds such 80 Kph winds. Once the wind blows this hard the wind turbine get shut off. The wind turbine also has a gear box in side of it in order to make the most energy from the wind. The wind turbine can also spin in order to face the wind to gain the most energy. On top of the wind turbine there is a wind vane to show the wind direction. This lets the computers inside the wind turbine know which way to face to get the most energy.
