Gold 3- Mess in the cafeteria by John Raby

In my eighteen years here the mess in the cafeteria has always been an issue. I have seen it addressed in a number of ways without success. The question I have for you is who or what is to blame or the problem? Is it the way the cafeteria is set up? Is it the way the faculty and administration police it? Is it the students? Who would you hold responsible? Please respond at your class' padlet below.

The problem in the cafeteria, in my opinion, is the students. Although it is the job of the cafeteria workers to clean the cafeteria, it is the students who are creating the mess, and therefore the problem. They should be the ones feeling the consequences.

For the most part I do not feel the cafeteria is that messy. For the mess that does occur from my experience it is from a couple of students who I feel should be punished more harshly. For example I have seen students throw food across the table and all the teacher does is tell them not to do it anymore. Then when the teacher walks away that start again. If they got a detention for this I think it would end.

It’s because Ta try’s to cram a fourth of the school in one room. Just let us eat outside or wherever.
