I wanted to share a research topic we (Lavrak) are working on currently, alongside the brilliant Bronwen Nixon and Amanda Homa, who are co-leading this research with us.

We're exploring how patriarchal structures operate within the contemporary circus sector, with a focus on moving conversations about equity away from policies and round tables (not because these aren't extremely valuable, but because there has been some amazing work done already there), and towards practical actions that organisations and individuals can use in their everyday work.

We are developing a new independent animal-free circus project in Tbilisi, alongside the Georgian Circus Arts Association, with a focus on international collaboration, circus education and contemporary performance.

I attended the Women in Circus Symposium online and would be very happy to connect with circus practitioners, producers, researchers, archives and organisations interested in Georgia and the wider Caucasus region.

Since you talked about wikipedia yesterday, I wanted to share something.

This year we organised the first Flanders Circus Wikithon during Smells Like Circus in january, together with Huis van Alijn (a museum in Ghent with a big circus collection).

We invited people to write wikipedia articles about circus in Flanders.

Since then Huis van Alijn has organised another Wikithon, this time during international women's day, with a focus on women in circus.

This was our first time organising a Wikithon, but we are considering organising this on a yearly basis. In this way we can expand the public knowledge about circus.
