I learned new online platforms I can use moving forward in life, which will help keep the adult learner engaged. I also learned about counselor standards which will also assists me with creating an effective lesson plan for adult learners. Two things that I learned this week are about how many new technology tools are available for educators. In addition to assessments, I learned about how some of these platforms can be used for presentations and other learning materials. Since there are free versions of these tools, it means that there is a world of creativity online for educators to use. My impressions about formative assessments were reinforced and I now firmly believe how important this type of measurement is for mutual student and teacher success.

One thing I wonder about as so much learning transitions to online platforms. How do we best ensure that students aren't using shortcuts to simply game the assessment rather than truly internalizing the information? The more widespread an electronic presence is the harder it can be to hold the students responsible for their own work. As someone who primarily works with adults, this is a bigger issue perhaps than for those who are working with younger pupils.
