The windmill was visible from outside the farm, even as it was built, it is a symbol of ambition and progress on Animal Farm, representing the animals' determination to create a better, self-sufficient future. It was a project that united them in hard work and hope for improvement. This is important because, as time went on, the windmill also became a tool of control, used by the pigs to justify the hard labor indured. Showing how what was a dream of equality turned into something power twisted even the best intentions.

The horseshoes presented here belonged to a horse named Boxer, who had been said to be the most hard working when it came to building the windmill, and the most devoted to Napoleon. He is important because it shows how some work to death supporting a corrupt leader. Showing how animalism begins to effect those who follow blindly.

These were not recovered from the farm, but from a knacker's yard, where the horse had died.

It is important because it marks the shift from hope and fairness to fear and oppression on the farm. The gun symbolizes how those in power maintain control through violence and intimidation, showing how Animalism’s original ideals were completely corrupted, and how most animals are no longer treated the same.

These commandments replaced the original Seven Commandments on the barn wall, slightly altered, though changed to benefit the pigs. It is important because it reveals how the pigs have corrupted the principles of Animalism, turning a vision of fairness into a justification for inequality. The altered words symbolize the ultimate abuse of power, showing that the revolution’s original hopes have been completely destroyed.
