know how to count to 20 as well as subtract by 20 or less. understand that each number represents a whole.

be able to practice addition within 20, using counting strategies such as the number line, and visual models.

Summative Assessments: Unfortunately, for this, I would create a fun "test", but it would be with something the students are into.

• One addition or subtraction to check for the skill set

• 2D shapes (identify one shape and count the number of sides)

• Identify which is small, medium, or large

• To answer one premade Post-it addition/subtraction problem

• Draw a 2D shape and add the number of sides.

• Draw 3 different measurements big, medium, and large.

Relate counting to addition and subtraction (e.g., by counting on 2 to add 2).

• A few word problems (Addition or Subtraction) that other groups will try to solve.

• Use shapes to create a group picture.

• Create different legths of measurements for other groups to solve.

know how to identify 2D shapes. (Circle, square, triangle, etc.)

understand how many sides each shape has.

be able to identify basic 2D shapes within their environments.

know how to measure basic objects using unit cubes. (pencils, paperclips, gluesticks)

understand the difference between inches and centimeters.

be able to compare the lengths of 2 objects.
