         <description><![CDATA[<div>      “We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” - The Declaration of Independence. The question is not “what is the American dream?” as that has already been answered in the a Declaration of Independence. The question is “what is your dream... what is my dream?”. Dreams are imaginary thoughts that were created in ones mind that became reality. Genesis 1:1 says “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”. In order to create heaven and earth God had to dream about it, he pondered on it before he did it. Genesis 1:3 says “God said “let there be light” and there was light”. Then God evaluated the creation of his dream, “light”. Genesis 1:4 it says “and God saw the light that it was good”. Then he named it “day”. <br>     </div>]]></description>

         <title>Dreamers</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>     Would you believe in the 1860’s according to the British Broadcasting Company traffic jams were a problem even before the invention of cars. Carriages and people crowded the roads of London causing traffic jams. A British railway manager named John Peek Knight suggested using a railroad method for traffic control which involved a police officer holding sticks signaling when people can cross intersections. In 1923 a dreamer named Garrett Morgan an African American inventor had a dream that there is a better way to do this. He created the first electric automatic traffic signal known today as the traffic light. He a had dream of improving the quality of life for ALL Americans. Garret Morgan was also the first African American to own a car in Cleveland, Ohio. He also invented the gas mask which saved millions of lives during wars. Does it matter that Thomas Edison was white when he created electricity? Apparently not to Garret Morgan because without electricity he could not have invented the traffic light. Today, we debate that dreams can be achieved if we are of a certain color, gender, or social class. But inventors like Garret Morgan, George Washington Carver, Elijah McCoy, Louis Howard Latem, Madam Cj Walker and the many more African American inventors, did not allow great adversities and stereotypes to destroy their dreams. Their dreams were bigger than their obstacles which was the color of their skin. <br>     </div>]]></description>

Thurgood Marshall was the first African American Supreme Court Justice in the U.S during the 60’s. He encountered many challenges and obstacles to get to his position but he did not let it stop him from achieving his dream.</div>]]></description>
