While the skill of language is more dominant in the left, clear ideas and perceptions are what matter most in a story.

A statistician would have to rely more heavily on the left hemisphere of their brain. There is really no creative element in statistics, it relies heavily on numbers and formulas and logic, it is concrete knowledge, which fits under the category of the left hemisphere. It is rational and there is usually only one right answer, making it more left brained.

It involves more reasoning than creative thinking.

It would be important for a science teacher to rely on the left hemisphere of the brain because it is important to them to know how and why somethings happens. A left sided brain is looking for reason as to why something takes place, which is important for a science teacher to not only know what they are teaching, but to understand why it is happening. Also, science teachers use logic to explain their findings. The left side of the brain relys more on the srtuctural and linear thinking, which is common in science classes.

For a photographer, I think it's be most beneficial for them to be right-brain dominant. To get amazing shots, things like setting, poses, angles, and lighting all play a huge role. These are things that take a certain amount of creativity, as well as spacial awareness, something more dominant in the right hemisphere. The right side of the brain relies on visual and perceptual clues and stimuli to function and form thoughts, so it's perfect for someone whose occupation is to create visuals that are aesthetically pleasing in regards to the visuals involved.

Though both hemispheres would come into play, a journalist would likely rely more on the left hemisphere. Journalists are often the direct opposite of fiction writers or poets. Instead of relying on creativity and imagination, they dig for facts and structure their articles accordingly. Journalists conduct interviews in which they search for questions, and answers. A rich vocabulary is also essential to any journalist, and the majority of spelling and language is housed in the left hemisphere. Of course a journalist would use the right hemisphere to formulate questions and deliver information in a way that would keep the audience interested, but the foundation of journalism relies more heavily on the left hemisphere than the right.
