Explanation: Mildred values herself by not caring about her husbands well-being, he works everyday and still hasn't payed off the last wall he bought her. She also values technology by sitting in front of the television all day and not being aware to the outside world. This shows that Mildred cares about the fourth wall and technology more than she does her welfare and husband. Mildred uses technology to separate herself from the outside world so she is isolated and therefore apathetic towards society.
