Values: Technology, Herself
"How long you figure before we save up and get the fourth wall torn out and a fourth wall-TV put in? It's only two thousand dollars.' That's one-third of my yearly pay.'.. We already doing without a few things to pay for the third wall. It was put in only two months ago..." (18)
Explanation: Mildred values herself by not caring about her husbands well-being, he works everyday and still hasn't payed off the last wall he bought her. She also values technology by sitting in front of the television all day and not being aware to the outside world. She has isolated herself so far from the outside world that technology and herself are the only things she values which makes Mildred a selfish person who uses technology as an escape.

Mildred values technology
"Its only two thousand dollars... and I think you should consider me sometimes. If we had a fourth wall, why it'd be just like this room wasn't ours at all, but all kind of exotic peoples rooms. We could do without a few things." (Bradbury 18)
This shows that Mildred cares about the fourth wall and technology more than she does her welfare and husband. Mildred uses technology to separate herself from the outside world so she is isolated and therefore apathetic towards society.

(Bradbury 17) She values ignorance because she would rather not know the truth and avoids the question when Guy asks Mildred about the pills.

If we had a fourth wall, why it'd be just like this room wasn't ours at all, but all kinds of exotic people's rooms. We could do without a few things."(Bradbury 18)
Explanation-This shows that Mildred value materialism because, she doesn't care how much the wall costs and how they could actually go without a few things showing that she really wants the wall and would give up anything to get it.
