It would be awesome to have a poster of the Engineering Design Process for each teacher to hang in our classrooms! That way, we can refer to it while we are teaching

I am so thankful that we are a 1:1 school and that students have access to devices in order explore technology and learn to use it responsibly.

I teach a science club after school and have incorporated more STEM into my lessons this year. The kids are loving it!! We measure out our ingredients, draw pictures for our what do you think will happen/what did happen, and we use critical thinking to carry out the experiment. We use our computers to look up STEM activities the students would like to participate in for future classes.

School Counseling standards include Career exploration and career awareness for Elementary School Children. My lessons are tailored to help the students learn about as many careers and jobs as possible. Without fail K-3 children at LCES choose jobs that have Science as a foundation for them. Such as...Space

(Astronauts), Pilots,

Paleontology (2nd grade curriculum), Marine Biologist, Dr.'s, Veterinarians, and Scientists.

These are some of the careers that always seem to spark our student's interest and curiosity.

I like how our school already includes PBL in the curriculum we use. This will be a great and effective way for students to be able to apply what they have learned and present it in a creative way.

First grade students enjoyed creating Magnificent Things using tools to make work easier in the classroom! They also enjoyed using tools to build their first name and spider webs in STEM Class.

In first grade, we visited The Muse and we also bring them in once a semester. They create activities based on what we are learning in class. It is a great partnership! We love them!

As a MLL teacher, I know how important teaching and incorporating STEM vocabulary into daily instruction is for our students. Any type of activities that give our students exposure to topics will greatly help them successful in all academic areas.

I love our partnership with the MUSE. In first grade, our students look forward to going to the MUSE at the end of Module 1, and they also love when they come to us in December.

For integrated technology, Padlet word walls are used in my classroom during our module time to give each student access to the vocabulary in our lessons. Many of our anchor charts are added to the Padlet word wall to give easier access and the students are utilizing the vocabulary more.

Using the Engineering Design Process in my 3rd-grade class blends seamlessly into writing and creating our Frog Books and Frog Trading Cards. We will also be creating a frog habitat from their expert frog research. In addition to using it in the classroom, I teach an after-school program and we are learning to crochet. We use the engineering Design Process to imagine what we would like to create, next we plan how much yarn and what color(s) we will need, we then create and experiment with different stitches, and improvement takes place over time as we become more fluent in crochet.

When teaching module topics to students, we make sure we incorporate vocabulary that students will interact with in their general ed classroom. This often includes STEM topics like fossils, frogs, the moon etc. and many other topics that have specific vocabulary that go with them.

School Curriculum allows for students to research topics of interest (Schools around the World, Paleontologist and Pollination). These science lessons not only engage students but also empower them to explore real-world applications of their learning.

There is so much power to providing opportunities throughout the day to support our learners in multiple content areas. This higher level thinking is something that is not just known, but learned. I can't wait to see how STEM learning can help our kids grow in all content areas.
