A recent university study found that 90% of college students surveyed admitted texting during class. Some even admitted sending messages during tests. This rampant abuse has led some professors to ban phones during tests and/or during all classes. Whether a student left their essay at home and they need to call a parent to bring it in or if there is an intruder on campus posing a threat to the safety of all students, having a powered cell phone can help prevent a disaster from getting worse.“  As a student I have had emergencies that required me to use a cellphone.
