Ableism is the discrimination of people with mental or physical disability’s and the favoring of people without. I do think ableism is a problem still but it has shifted from a physical discrimination, like teasing, being rude and treating them like they are a mistake( which they aren’t) to something more of a mind set or a certain thought process that they are different but it is kept in the mind and is not physically shown.

This picture shows how not everyone with a disability looks disabled and how some people are sick of hearing they look disabled. I think that ableism is a problem because some people are just assuming that everyone who is disabled has a visible disability. But I think the media is getting better about ableism than in the past

Ableism is favoring people without disability’s. This shows ableism because it’s saying that disabled people can park here which is very nice and a good thing to have. But the thing under that isn’t. I do think ableism is still a problem. I think that because, I feel people think oh when you have a disability it always has to be physically shown when sometimes it’s just not. Sometimes it’s in the brain and you can’t see that. I do think it is getting better though. I also think that because you can tell that a lot more people understand.
