Through his cartoon, Twohy is asserting the claim that people aren’t the same because technology. We see him hint at this when the man asks the kid to throw the virtual pig skin instead of going outside in real life and throwing the football. We also see the kid looking at his screen not the man. Lastly we see the kids room is full of toys but he isn’t using any, he is just using the screen.

Through his cartoon, Twohy is asserting the claim that tech has created a disconnect with parents and their kids. Tech is largely used by younger people, causing the relationship with their parents to weaken as they spend valuable time online. The way Twohy communicates this is by showing the kid in the cartoon, who is clearly very locked in on his computer, ignoring his father who is trying to relate and spend time with him. This shows a clear disconnect between the father and son due to tech. In short, Twohy is saying tech has created a disconnect between parent and child.

Through his cartoon, Twohy is asserting the claim that technology is impacting families and bonds. One way he communicates his claim is by shoeing how the father wont even get up from his chair to talk to his son. This shows how the computer is so addicting, that can’t bother to get up to communicate with his son. Another way is the son is only paying attention to his screen and not even acknowledging his father speaking. This shows how the son is so mesmerized and how the screen has his full attention. Another way is the kid has a whole shelf of toys, that appear to be untouched. Instead of using them, he’s online. This shows how Twohy is claiming that technology is impacting family and the bonds within them.

In this cartoon Twohy’s claim states that being on technology can get in the way of spending time with others offline. The boy on the computer gives no response to the adult asking him to spend time with him. The boy seems to be more focused on the computer instead of paying attention to what is being said to him. The adult also does not even ask the boy the play football outside, instead he suggests throwing a football virtually. Twohy shows in his claim that both children and adults are spending too much time on electronics and they need to disconnect from screens.

Through this cartoon, Twohy is asserting the claim that the relationship between parents and kids is being strained due to technology. One way he communicates this is by using the image of the child being on the computer. For example, the child’s body language being very dull and the fact that the father attempted to connect with his son through the technology yet he was still ignored. That suggests that the child would much rather spend time on his computer by himself rather than with his father.

Through his cartoon, Twohy is asserting the claim that tech is ruining the youth. One way he communicates this claim is by using the image of the son not interacting with his dad. This suggests that tech is causing young people to seclude themselves from their friends and family. In the image, the kid has toys secluded on a shelf. This shows that the kid is so glued to the screen that he refuses to play with his toys. The dad is also using slang to get the kid to interact with him, showing how desperate he is to be with his son.

One way this claim is communicated is how both the father and son are on the computer. Another way Twothys claim is shown is when the son doesn’t look up from the computer as his father speaks. Lastly, the father says virtual football instead of the real football. These observations show how people are addicted to devices which can make people distant in relationships.

Through his cartoon, Twohy is asserting the claim that as technology advances relationships become distant or they try to adapt. He communicates this by using the words. “ Wanda toss the ol virtual pigskin”, shows the parent is trying to adapt with the technology to form a bond with his son. In the cartoon it shows a wall between the son and the father which shows distance between them, also in the image it shows the son and the father on the computer but the son is focused and typing on the computer almost ignoring his dad shows that he is focused on the virtual world than the real world. The value of the virtual is that it is a way for people to connect but also a way for people to disconnect showing the virtual is a dependent use of how people live and make bonds.

One way he communicates this is through the image of a father looking into the other room, watching his son on the computer. Another way he communicates this is by using the words, “wanna toss the ol’ virtual pigskin?”. These things suggest that the father wants to spend time with his son, and is trying to ask him in a way he thinks will help them connect and relate to each other. This shows the value of the word “virtual”, and it was used because it’s what his son can relate with.

Through his cartoon, Twohy is asserting the claim That we are so addicted to our screens that quality time is apart of our screens. One way he communicates this claim is by using words such as, “ Do you want to talk the ol virtual pigskin. This shows that the only quality time that is spent is online not in real life even with a father and son. Another way that he communicates this is buy having both the father and the sons both on there computers. It shows that they both dont go outside much because they have no reason to. The final reason is that the dad is looking behind him. It shows he is trying to communicate with his son that he wants to spend time.

One of the ways he communicates this claim is by the dad saying “wanna toss the ol’ vertical pigskin.” To suggest that the dad and the son do not play outside together or connect besides playing videos games. Also the son looks like he is not paying attention to his dad and does not care to talk to him. Lastly the dad as resorted to playing video games to connect to his son instead of doing something that he did as a kid with his dad that he might find fun.

Through his cartoon, Twohy is asserting the claim that electronics are taking over relationships and creating strain between people. One way he communicates this is having the boy in his cartoon not even glance up from his computer at the man speaking to him, indicating that he does not care and is too busy into whatever it is the computer has for him. This is proving that electronics are taking over relationships by how the boy couldn’t even show a response by picking up his head and acknowledging the man speaking to him, which shows a break of connection due to the usage of electronics. The two separate rooms are an analogy to the fact their relationship is very fractured and disconnected, likely to the usage of electronics. In conclusion, Twohy is asserting the claim that electronics are taking over relationships and creating strain between people.

He communicates this several ways by using the image of the son dialed into the computer, the father asking to “toss the ol’ virtual pigskin,” and the son’s toys on the shelf. This suggests that the computer has fully mesmerized the son, simple things, such as tossing the pigskin needs to be online to have simple connections, and that technology have distracted people from real life fun.

Twohy would think virtual is bad because it distracts people from making real, in person connections.

Though his cartoon, Twohy is asserting the claim that technology is pulling families and relationships apart, primarily due to reducing interactions. One way he shows this is by displaying a lazy father and a nerdy son who are in separate rooms and are both on computers. They aren’t active or talking to each other casually in the same room as people should to get to know each other showing they are distant and may be growing even farther apart. The father however, is trying to bond with his son by playing football virtually as he asks to, “toss the ol’ virtual pigskin” with his son, but it isn’t real connection or true bonding compared to if they did it in person. Also, the son has a hunched back, glasses, and is glued to his computer showing how he is a nerd and is harming his health. The father is also stuck to a computer in a chair very similarly to the son, showing how his health might also be poor due to laziness. That is how Twohy believes that technology is pulling apart families and relationships. Twohy would see “virtual’s” value as poor due to its harmfulness when it reduces interactions and pulls apart families and relationships.

Twohy’s claim/argument is that technology is taking over our lives. One way he supports his claim is in the cartoon. He depicts the child having toys on his walls, but he is playing on the computer and instead of playing with his toys. Also, in the cartoon, the father is saying “toss the ol’ virtual pig skin.” These two pieces of evidence show that technologies is taking over because the boy doesn’t wanna play with his toys and the father is trying to connect with his son, but the only way that you can connect with him is through technology. Twohy’s Also supports his claim through the fact that his son is so mesmerized by the computer that he is not acknowledging his father. This shows that claim that technology is taken over our lives.

Would see the value in the virtual because it can provide a way for people across the world to connect with each other and for those who don’t like sports, they’ll have another way to connect and form relationships with others.

One way he communicates this is by using the words “Wanna toss the ol’ pigskin?” To suggest that the father is making his best effort to spend time with his son who is glued to his computer. Resorting to the dad asking to play online. We can also see the kid with a bunch of toys, providing him with things to do other than playing on the computer, yet he still stays glued to it. Finally the image shows the kid with not only a hunchback but also glasses. This shows the kid spent lots of time on his computer. Although the glasses may be his eyesight his dad who is older doesn’t have them on which leads me to believe they are blue light.

One way he communicates this is by using the words “virtual pigskin”. By making sure to add “virtual”, it suggests a commitment and deeper connection to technology. Additionally, the use of “pigskin”, which is slang for football, shows the father making an effort to look cool and impress his son. Also, we can see the son m=has many toys and games in his room, but he doesn’t play with them, choosing to play on his computer, showing less physical connections. Finally, we can see the father only turns around in his chair to ask his son a question instead of getting up to communicate face-to-face. By doing this, we can see an increase of laziness in not only the younger generations but the older ones too.
