I think it is more supportive of Hoover becuase Abe Lincoln seems to be comforting him and trying to say that while Hoover may seem like the enemy now, he will be considered a good president in the future.

The political cartoon is supportive of Hoover becuase, it shows Abe Lincoln saying he knows what its like to take criticism, but yet he still is regarded as one of the best presidents to date. The author is trying to say the same thing about hoover, and that Hoover is going to bounce back into action, and save the economy.

The ghost of President Lincoln consoles him, reminding Hoover (and the audience) that a great man like him was hated too. Despite all of the progress Lincoln made, he faced a lot of retaliation. The crowd in the background is rampant and unapologetic with their hatred. The artist is trying to convince the audience to vote for Hoover due to his persistence and hard work.

I think the cartoon is supportive of Hoover because Lincoln is there saying to Hoover that he too was criticised for his actions at the time of his presidency but was praised for what he did after. Lincoln is understanding and reassuring to Hoover telling him not to listen to all of the people behind him who are outraged.

I think it is more supportive of Hoover because it is comparing himself to Lincoln who is considered one of the better presidents in U.S history. So Lincoln is convincing him that even though he'll take criticism at the moment he will be viewed as a good president.

In my opinion, this cartoon is in favor of Herbert Hoover since Lincoln seems to be consoling Hoover and attempting to reassure him that even though he may appear to be the "bad guy" at the moment, Hoover will be remembered as a capable president in the future. In addition, the artist of this cartoon is trying to persuade the audience to vote for Hoover by empasizing his persistance and work ethic in the illustration.

I think it supports Hoover because Lincoln suggests that he will be seen as a good person when it is all over just as he was. Just as Lincoln, the people behind Hoover are insulting him and showing their frustration while he tends to his responsibilities.

This is more supportive of Hoover then critical because there are many people making Hoover the enemy even though there all the different things he needs to do as president and different jobs to attend to. I think that this cartoon is supposed to be in support of Hoover. I think this way because Abraham Lincoln in the cartoon is saying things that seem to be criticizing to things that he did when he himself was president, and he is sort of reminding Hoover that he can be hated and still be a good president and make good decisions for the country.

It's more in support of Hoover because it shows Lincoln telling Hoover that he knows what it feels like to take criticism from the American people because of the choices that he made. Lincoln saying this shows that in both of their times hard choices needed to be made that in no way could people everyone, and by making these choices it shows what kind of leader both of them are, Abe being considered one of the nations greatest leaders. Through this the author tries to gather support for Hoover.

My interpretation of this cartoon is showing how supportive they were of Hoover. They show all his work that needs attending to but Abe is telling him its okay and knowing that he's busy trying to look and the problems with the great depression and everything going on in the economy right now, his biggest concern isn't all the requests and bills he has to pass.

I found the cartoon to be supportive of Hoover. This cartoon had been made during the re-election period and standing over Hoover is President Lincoln trying to comfort him as a crowd of people are behind him blaming Hoover for all of the terrible outcomes of the depression. In a way I feel like this cartoon is trying to show Lincoln's understanding of the struggle Hoover can be facing during the presidency and that this time isn't easy for any of them.

The presidents who are elected during a crisis get the same treatment, which is criticism by the people because they expect them to resolve all the issues they have. If they don't, then all chaos breaks loose. I guess it could be a way of seeing how people would take problems, and the government when it might be something that they can resolve.
