A female being free or independent was not only rare, but a female then couldn't really take care of themselves independently, due to the sexism that took place. Louise got her first glimpse of freedom with the "passing" of her husband. She learns what it is like with having freedom and if it was worth loosing her husband for.</div>]]></description>
