         <description><![CDATA[<div>  The American Dream has changed over time because some want more for themselves than others, and we have different opportunities that may help us. We won't all have the same goals as one another. Some people might want to reach those goals in a different way than others. Nowadays, people want to have more than what they need. They want bigger and better things for themselves and want higher expectations. This has caused the American Dream to have a bigger meaning and to expand on what it really was. <br><br> The immigrants and the Americans both have the same message about the American Dream. The Americans say that you need to work hard and you will achieve the American Dream. Also, the immigrants have the same thought. They are saying that people should work hard and they will achieve the American Dream. I think that both sides have the same thought because they both want better lives, and be successful. They want jobs and the money to receive the things they want. No matter the ethnicity or race, everyone works hard and tries to maintain the American Dream.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The American Dream has changed over time because, we as people have evolved into wanting bigger things for ourselves. The american dream differs for every american because we all have different goals and standards to meet.<br><br><br>My reply:<br>To me, an immigrant's American dream, and  a natives American Dream are very similar. The common idea, is that America is ideal when trying to fulfill one's dream because of the infinite opportunities. Immigrants and natives both aspire to be successful and provide for themselves. Immigrants are still regular people, with goals and standards that many natives have. Both natives and immigrants share the passion to do well in this country. So therefore, regardless of what ethnic background   you are or where you come from, that doesn't change the common  to be prosperous in America. </div>]]></description>

They talk about how to attain the American Dream, one would have to work for it. One can't magically live a life where dreams are true. One would have to go through a journey to get there.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The American dream has changed because people think that we want to stop immigrants form coming here.<br><br>My Reply: <br>yes I think there is a difference. We grow up in a country with a million opportunities we can sometimes be blinded by what we really want because we have all the necessities. People in other counties could want a better education and have a chance to better their knowledge. Here, we already have a chance to education so that is no longer our top priority, while it may be for some we have a better time getting it some kids have to walk for 8 hours just to get to school. People who don't grow up with freedom could wish for something that we already have so we don't see a issue  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The American Dream has changed over time because at first people wanted opportunities for their families and that they didn't have back where they came from. The things that they were interested in could give them a job that included some parts of their interests. Overtime, people became more and more careless and  lost sight of what the American dream really was. Nowadays, people see the american dream as " having the most expensive and newest things" . People only care about themselves and materialistic objects.<br><br>2) I don't think that there is a difference between the examples written on the board. Both are similar in there own ways. In general, both of the summarized quotes talk about achieving dreams. They also talk about having to work hard to get what you want. Some of them also mentioned that the american dream can be achieved no matter your race of gender. People do whatever it takes to get what they've always wanted. So, overall, i do not think that there is a difference between the quotes from immigrants or natives.</div>]]></description>

There are different opportunities that help each individual, in their own way. People want to have a better life, however everyone has their own goals and things they want to achieve. <br>2.) Is there a difference between what immigrants and non immigrants want in life? The examples on the board resemble the same idea. No there is not a difference between the two. Both want to be happy and achieve their dreams. They each understand that to get to the American dream you need to work hard. Also that you need to be determined. The American dream does not discriminate your race or gender. So really there is not a difference between the two. </div>]]></description>

People work harder everyday so they can get a nicer car big and luxurious house that's the american dream. Everyone wants to be more they want to have more to say that they have this. They can give stuff to their family that they might not have. When they were younger they might have not been to fortunate. Immigrants and Americans born in america have a same perspective on the american dream.  The only way that you can achieve the dream is to work hard.  They both agree that discrimination should not happen and everyone should have a chance. This basically means that it used to be about a place where everything was better and people were far more successful, which people believed was America. Nowadays people seem to think that the American Dream is having immense wealth and many material things, but many people still believe in the original concept of the American Dream, which is all about being able to have a good life and be able to provide for your loved ones.</div>]]></description>

However, most of the quotes for the Immigrants are about equality, and appreciating hardships that people had to face. There is definitely a difference between the two. The original American Dream was that each man and woman could get to the top of what their abilities provided, meaning that everyone would have a chance to do their best no matter what their background is. Soon enough the American Dream's meaning would change completely. Today, the foundation of our American Dream would be material wealth. Everyone wants to work for money so that they could buy cars, new houses, and what they think is going to make them look and feel the best. Financial gain has become the main goal of our society.<br><br>My reply: <br>I do not see much of a difference between an immigrant and someone born in America and their ideas pertaining to what they want in life. Both sides want equal and fair chances to work at their goal. While their ideas of what their American dream may be different, - it all comes down to each person from each side wanting to get their shot at achieving what they think the American Dream is. Maybe one side wants more of material wealth whereas the other may want to become a better person, so they move to this country. People come to America for their own personal reasons but they don't come here and automatically get what they want. They are willingly working so that they can better themselves in the way that they want them to be.</div>]]></description>
