The Two types of web hosting are shared and dedicated. Shared hosting is when your website is hosted in a server with hundreds or even thousands of other websites. The advantages of shared website hosting is that is a lot cheaper than dedicated hosting. The disadvantages is that it will be slower than dedicated, you will also have less space for the website and the website will have a higher chance of going down or crashing if the web hosting has too much pressure on other sites.

Dedicated hosting is when your website is hosted on its own dedicated server. With its own security. The benefits of this type of hosting is that it will be much faster, capable of handling a larger amount of end users at a time and it will have more security.
The disadvantage of dedicated hosting is that it is normally much more expensive than shared hosting and is only viable for large businesses to be used.

In conclusion shared hosting is better for hobbyists or websites for small businesses but for any large organisation dedicated hosting is better.
