Make own garden for fresh, free and nutritious food for the family.
>We cannot always rely on food programs/outreaches. We must have a go-to source of food.
> Since space is one problem for most urban citizens, a vertical garden, wherein pipes are utilized as beds for vegetables to grow is convenient. It takes up lesser space, and the water is cycled within the pipes. It can also be customized as to how many rows the space could fit into.
>Pechay, sayote, tomatoes, eggplants and various vegetables could grow with not much maintenance as long as the basics--water and sunlight is provided.
>In terms of cost, used pipes in good condition, which could be salvaged from construction sites is available, and rainwater is free. Installation could cost the patron depending on the carpenter's service fee, and some fertilizers are due but there are natural options such as chicken dung and compost.
In a gist, the cost of building this vertical garden beds is worth it compared to buying pricely food from the grocery/market and upon bearing, you have fresh food to just cook instead of taking time to buy some.
>With your very own garden, money for food will be reduced so as to use for other utilities and needs such as education, rent, etc
>You can do this on your own. Even at any age and condition, maintaining your own garden is doable.
Be productive with your time. Instead of slacking off, try to find part-time jobs.

Regarding food waste within the household, do not cook more than what you can consume and then throw it away. In cases of left-overs, re-cook them into another viand which the family can enjoy.

>Others may think growing your own food is super difficult, and it might be hard at first, especially when the sprouts are still growing, but with the right seminars from credited groups(DA,farmers,etc) then citizens may have an idea on making and maintaining it.
