The citizens of Waketa know what to do in order to survive, as they need to evacuate and go 20 miles away from the plant. The plant workers know that they need to do a controlled release to keep the temps down as they fix the cooling pool and keep everyone alive.

She and her crew should have joined the other firefighters in helping with the plant crisis but she risked losing her job to ensure his safety. Teamwork is an important theme in this novel. The firefighters work together with the power plant workers in order to handle the crisis. If they hadn't worked together they wouldn't have been able to get everything done in time and they would have lost all three reactors. Throughout the novel, they build strong relationships with each other and because of this they are able to work more efficiently.

Many characters in the book were faced with very hard challenges out of know where. They were not prepared for what was going to happen and how to fix it. Joss, one of the characters to help fix the power plant, had the strength to lead everyone and help everyone through the traumatic event. She was a leader and helped Ethan lead the workers to fixing the power plant before it was to late.

Ethan had to go into the plants cooling pool, which if exposed for long enough will kill you instantly. Ethan had to go to the bottom of the pool to underwater welp the leak shut. My question is will Ethan survive or die after getting out the pool
