The hobbit and the dwarves have numerous setbacks throughout the book. They all have a plan or get over fear to push through them though. Bilbo also has many setbacks. First off, he is away from home and has to learn how to adapt. Then he is on his own and has to save 12 dwarves! Especially at the part where they had just entered the dark forest. This image also reminds me of eeriness because there is no one there and it looks oddly silent.
