I guess they technically have their functions but they seem very different compared to the body's other organs.

2: I learned that there are 5 layers of skin, previously I thought there was just a dead zone near the surface, and a living part underneath that was actually connected to capillaries and whatnot.

3: Not sure if I missed this part, but what exactly are calluses then? Dead skin that hardened and/or compressed itself to protect certain sections or did the body just make special skin cells for that section of the skin? How does the body know which parts of the skin need calluses, is it based off of how much pain that part of the skin feels?

1. One fact I found interesting is that our skin weight is approximately 16% of our body weight. I expected it to weigh a little less or a little more than 16%.
2. One thing I learned was the multiple sweat glands we have in our skin... like Apocrine, Eccrine and Sebaceous and how they all work in the skin.
3. One comment I had was I liked the visuals and diagrams included in the power point. Made me help understand the words a little more since I’m more of a visual learner.
