I've decided to go with this article because Japan, Tokyo in particular, has always interested me. To learn more about Tokyo was something I planned to do for a while, so what better time to do it than now?

The article talks about whether or not Tokyo has shaped itself into some sort of a »perfect city«. It describes the strong advantages living in it brings, such as low levels of crime, amazingly done transportation, the not so crowded daily life, one good point after another, the reader really gets a good impression of Tokyo.

However, the article talks about the issues Tokyo has as well, one of them being the rising number of abandoned houses in the country. More and more people are moving to the centre of Tokyo, despite the prices being expensive. Thus, the criminal activity in the countryside can often go unnoticed. On top of that, the residents of Tokyo tend to overwork themselves, which results in more tension and anxiety in the people.

Overall, the article was very informative and I'd suggest it to anyone who's interested in the city of Tokyo.

Hello, friend! Assuming this will be your first time in my hometown, Ljubljana, I've decided to create a plan of things we have to see. I hope you're excited to go around the main city of Slovenia!

I thought it'd be best to start our tour with the Ljubljana Castle, which was built nearly a thousand years ago. From there we can get a good view of Ljubljana, and can pin down the places we're visiting next.

Once we're back on the ground, we're visiting the Robba fountain. Its statues are of gods, representing the three Carniolan rivers. Next to it is our second tour sight, the Town Hall with its signature clock tower.

After seeing those two, we're checking out the Prešern square, where we can admire The Franciscan Church of the Annunciation and the famous Prešern monument. Nearby is also the Dragon Bridge, one of the more interesting sights. Once we see all that, we go down one of the streets and check out the National and University Library. A few steps away is a theater venue and a school to many art students, Križanke.

And what kind of a monster would I be if I didn't bring you to Metelkova Mesto! A very fascinating little town, full of art and strange but interesting structures.

That would be all from the strict centre of Ljubljana. I'm looking forward to seeing Ljubljana with you!

I like both the city and the countryside and would live in both.

So when thinking of my dream city, I'd imagine it to be some sort of a mix of the city and the countryside. A city that has a lot of its space dedicated to nature. A lot of parks, trees, overall a lot of greenery would be a nice thing to see. Clean air would be nice, too.

Developed transportation is a must – have. People need buses and trains, ones that drive often and don't take a lifetime to get somewhere. Many cities have poor transportation, resulting in people feeling more anxious and tired over time.

Another important thing my dream city would need to have is safety – mainly at night. I want to feel safe going out later in the day.

I'd also want the residents of my city to be generally friendly and accepting. For example, Tokyo tends to be cruel to foreigners, with most Japanese people not ever really accepting them.

That's what I'd imagine a dream city to be.

The saying »When in Rome, do as the Romans do« means that you should be polite and adapt your behaviour when you're in a different setting / culture. The expression is used when one recommends someone that they should behave appropriately.

For example, when in a church, don't make noise. When in a business meeting, dress well. And when in a different culture, be respectful.

»Everyone at work dresses formally. I used to dress casually, but when in Rome, do as the Romans do«

It is a well known expression, most people would understand it if it was said to them.
