One of the things I noticed while she was reading the poem was her change in pace. Sometimes she would be speaking slowly, and other times she would go from idea to idea at a fast pace, which helps pull the audience in. I they have poets speak at inaugurations because poetry has the power to inspire and call for change or action.

I wonder how long it took her to write the poem. Her reciting regions of the nation stood out to me because she addressed each and every person in the nation in this poem. Poets are very passionate and are great at making people feel emotions. Therefore, poets would be chosen to speak at an inauguration to inspire all the people watching.
