Music is many different things to many different people. To some, music is a stress reliever, it’s the way people say things when they can’t find the words to say them out loud. Music to me is the way I best express my feelings. I feel myself when I listen to my favorite music. I interact with music on the daily basis when I walk to class, lay in bed, and basically any spare time I have. I would like to say I have a wide variety of music that I listen to, but it's mainly within the Hip Hop and R&B areas. Inside of these two genres of music, I find that most of it speaks to me and defines me in some way or another. They speak of real world issues as well as personal daily issues. My personal favorite at the moment is Bryson Tiller and his music consists of personal day to day issues and struggles. Other artists that I listen to are The Weeknd, Drake, Travis Scott, Aminé, 2 Chainz, Kanye West, Rae Sremmurd, and Frank Ocean.

When I think of a song that describes my life I think about this song. I can relate to this song word for word. Although it's not a happy song because it reminds me of a sad time in my life, I still listen to it regularly. When I can't find the words to describe how I feel this is what I listen to.

I took this picture back in 2014 when I saw this band perform live. Before I started listening to Hip Hop and R&B, I use to listen to a lot of alternative music such as Panic and others like Fall Out Boy. I like this picture a lot because of Brendon Urie playing the piano and it had an exclamation point on it which I know is in the band name but it just made me think of excitement and that was what I was feeling at the time of this concert.

The Weeknd's Trilogy Album

I love the Weeknd's music and I appreciate his work as an artist. This was The Weeknd's very first album to ever come out. I love every song on there and listened to this album and nothing else for almost two months straight. What makes this album different from other R&B artists is that this album contains 3 individual CD's and 30 songs. I believe that he is very hard working and dedicated to produce 30 songs. As well as making every song good and well made.

Credit: https://open.spotify.com/album/5EbpxRwbbpCJUepbqVTZ1U

Set It Off - Bryson Tiller

Bryson Tiller is my personal favorite at the moment so I wanted to include one of his songs that spoke to me. This song was in his most recent album called "True to Self." I chose this song specifically because I feel like I can relate to it a lot. Bryson is opening up about his protective and loyal relationship with his past girlfriend. He reevaluates his state of mind and relationship. He realizes that she will go to war for him and she is loyal to him.
