What did you find successful?

What made the concert very successful was the director directing his band in perfect harmony. I feel like the concert was also a success because a lot of people showed up. I feel like the concert went together very well and it seemed like the artist knew what they were doing. To me the music had a story to it for the whole concert. It started off easy and happy, then during the middle it started to get tense, then towards the end it gets mellow and relaxing. The flute section stood out at me because it started slow and then it picked up quick and it made me feel, shocked. I did not know pieces could be energetic and sounded perfect and strong. A women playing the flute during the concert caught my eye and reminded me of Western Art Music canon.

Can you connect with this kind of concert experience?

I can connect with this concert because I did not think it would be fun; but it was. But I learned that all music can be connected in some way. I did not want to go the concert because i felt like it was going to be boring and a waste of my time. It opened my mind to many different sounds and ideas and I am so glad I live streamed the UNT Symphony.

At first classical music did not mean anything to me and I thought it was a waste of time. I went to a UNT concert and it changed my whole mind set. It was great to see everybody on the same page flowing together in harmony.

Can you see traces of the music you love in this music?

My favorite genre to listen to is either country or rap. I like rap because I like the flow and beats producers create. I love country because i love to sing-along to it and it usually turns my bad day into a good day. I see very little traces from the music I usually listen to verse classical music. I do not think there is much in common between country and classical music because country is more exciting or fun to sing too! Classical music to me is great, but I cannot jam out to it, which I love to do.

This piece was a great flowing that had a powerful drum and trumpet beginning. I like how the trumpets are drawn out and the drums come in behind them with a loud statement. It sounds like war type of song, something they would use for a patriotic time. The director was very smooth with his cues and all of the musicians were hitting their notes exactly when the director told them to. I am very glad i got to listen to this piece because it caught my attention right off the back.

This piece was also fantastic because it started off really quick and it made me feel like i needed to get something done. I feel like this would be a great piece to put into a movie when something is happening really quick. The piece is great because you do not know when the band is going to pick up and get fast again. The band goes quiet and then it randomly picks up when the director instructs to do so. Harlequin was my favorite piece of them all because it made me want to do something and be productive.
