The current tower comes from the construction of a water reservoir and a tower dating from 1911. But the work was completed in 1943 after several projects.
Cornelio Lange project ended up winning, making the tower in the Tudor style. This style was Nordic with a medieval forms, causes a strong impact even today.
The tower can be visited regularly and you can go up to the highest point, the viewpoint, through 194 steps or opt for the elevator. Once there, the view is breathtaking. One of the emblematic buildings of Mar del Plata that can be seen from the Tanque Tower is the Demetrio Elíades Building (Torre Havanna), the tallest in the city.
This place has one of the best views of the city. Also, there you can admire photos and old newspapers that relate everything done before and after the tower was built.
