Due to Susie's seizure at age 4, her brain has been wired differently, which leads to her acting out more frequently than normal children would. Since Susie has a hard time controlling herself when given restrictions and rules, she has a hard time developing socially and mentally with her peers. Susie's mother did not raise her as a good mother should, therefore, the lack of punishment and reinforcements did not affect Susie in a positive way.

While pregnant, Susie's mother used marijuana, which had an effect on Susie's mind. Additionally, as she grew up, the way that Susie viewed things were altered after she had a seizure at age 4. Medically, she became sensitive to bright lights and loud noises. Socially, she picks up different traits and uses them against other people, while putting the blame on them as well.

Susie does well with math at the beginning of the day, but at the end of the day she can't remember what was taught. The results suggest that when providing incentives to remember, children apparently engaged in more effortful mnemonic processing in order to remember the items, even though a greater number of items were not recalled (Nida,2015).

As stated before, Susie's mother used marijuana during her pregnancy which affected her negatively. From that came her seizure which left her with involuntary muscle movements in her hand and on the left side of her body. THC exposure are likely to disrupt developing motor control circuits and may contribute to the current finding of reduced functional connectivity between caudate and cerebellar regions (Grewen et al., 2015).

She also has a hard time labeling emotions and let others decide what emotions she should express. The experience of being abused affects children’s social cognition, especially the ability to understand others (Koizumi & Takagishi, 2014).

Susie is very aggressive there is a good possibility that this trait stems from the way her mother treated her and her sisters. Her mother would spank her for bad behavior, which eventually lead to Susie acting out negatively on her sisters. At school, she is aggressive and bossy to other students. Punishment may increase the incidence of aggression because the target may intimate the behavior of the punishment agent (Felson and Russo, 1988).

While our group was evaluating Susie Hanover, We discovered that her environment in utero and after birth had a huge impact on how she interacts with others and her motives to achieve. Her lack of motivation and social skills is due to her mother's drug abuse of marijuana during pregnancy, her grand Mal seizure at the age of four, and her mother's inability to reinforce her behavior correctly instead of spanking her. Thus, causing her to mimic her mother's aggressive tendencies on her siblings and classmates. Seeing that seizure's can cause long term deficits, the fact that Susie had an intense grand Mal seizure at such a young age, it is easy to see why she has trouble when it comes to focusing, participating, and retaining school information. Furthering the case of Susie Hanover we can conclude that with these obstacles in her life, her upcoming years of developing into society will be difficult and lonely because of her low ability to maintain relationships with friends and family.
