The trauma inflicted generations ago due to the removal of Aboriginal children from their families, is still evident  within the descendants of the Stolen Generation members today. This trauma impacts mental health and wellbeing when  not dealt with. Healing initiatives have been implemented around the nation but the lack of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander guidance and consultation is impacting the rates of healing.
