How and why did my family come to the united states?

My family came to the united states to get a new life and start brand new. They came from Sombrerete and then moved to Noria San Pantaleón I'm pretty sure that they worked in the fields and did not get paid much so they immigrated to America. My great grandma Ireen Lopez worked in the fields and married a solder. They settled down Sacramento and are still there to this day. They wanted to move to Sacramento because one, they did not have enough money and they did not live in a good area.

What were the obstacles that they met?

Some obstacles that they met were racialism, Back then when they first moved to California people did not treat them with total kindness and treated them unfairly. My great grandma lived through the great depression and getting money was hard and since they did not have that much money they were surviving off scrapes. Another challenge is crossing the border, They first time the did not fill out the form correctly so they to wait another year to try again. They were many challenges that my family has faced but I am happy for the sacrifices they make because I love Oceanside and were I live.

What was going on Historically during this time and did it effect your Family.

There was not too much going on but 911 was going on at the time and that was a scary time in the world every wonder if their was going to be another war. She also lived through world war two and the great depression. Theses are only some things that were going on during that time that my family was facing.
