    Mental health- people lose their homes, jobs, and loved ones caused by wild fires which causes stress and anxiety.

    Infectious diseases- mosquitos love warmer weather and spread diseases


    Four Reasons for Increasing Infectious Diseases:

    1. Changing Animal Habits: Climate change is making animals move to new places, bringing them into contact with each other and spreading germs.

    2. Cutting Down Forests: Clearing forests for farming makes animals move and increases the chance of germs spreading.

    3. Lots of Farm Animals: Keeping many domesticated animals in one place increases the risk of diseases spreading from animals to people.

    4. Global Travel: People traveling worldwide quickly spread germs, making it easier for diseases to move across the globe.

    Actions to Prevent Future Outbreaks:

    1. Support Public Health: Give money and resources to leaders working on public health and disease research.

    2. More Research Funding: Invest in more research, better responses to outbreaks, and supplies for testing.

    3. Stop Illegal Wildlife Trade: Take steps to control the illegal trade of wild animals to prevent diseases from spreading.

    4. Protect Forests: Preventing deforestation helps keep animals in their habitats and reduces the risk of diseases spreading.

    5. Change Farming Practices: Review and change how we farm animals, especially in crowded conditions, to stop diseases from spreading to humans.

    1992- Earth summit in Rio. A convention on climate change was signed.

    1997- Kyoto Protocol is adopted. A treaty is signed to reduce climate change gas emissions.

    2015- Paris agreement is adopted and a limit of 1.5 degrees is implemented.

    2017- COP 27 takes place and a loss damage fund is agreed upon
