Question 2:
1. Diabetes mellitus
2. Auscultation
3. Troponins
4. Myocardial Ischemia
5. Nitroglycerin
6. Nasal Canula
7. Lovenox
8. Statin
9. Inter lateral leads

Question 3:
From the first video, it can be noticed that Ryan used many medical jargons or terms to clearly explain the condition of the patient to the medical team. The usage of medical jargons and terms suits the capability of the audience who are also from the medical background which allows them to understand the words used. For the second video, the presenter’s does not use jargons or terms which allow the discourse to be understood by wider audience with different educational background. Therefore, the avoidance of medical jargons and terms in the second video makes it easier for those are not from the medical background to comprehend the content of the presentation.

Question 4:
English has become the internationally accepted language at every field of knowledge. To fulfil the needs of the learner, specific course were designed. ESP is one of the specific courses that designed for adult learners either at the institution or at a work place. It is mostly concerned on the learner’s needs for their specific field that use a specific language such as legal language, formal language, medical language and IT language. Every field has its own specific language, thus, this is how ESP takes place. For example, based on the first video, the medical student were using medical terms to explain to the patient. This tells us that only the doctors can understand the term used. However, on the second video, the speaker was presenting to the audience by using simple words as she is aware at the very beginning that the audience comes from different background, and that is one of her strategy to tackle the audience.

Even so, some of the medical terms used are still not umderstandable by those who are not familiar with them.

b) Video 2
Overall, it's comprehensible except for the names of the viruses and the methods used in the research. In addition, the fast-paced speech is quite challenging to be understood, along with the accent.

Question 4
English for Specific Purposes (ESP) is important in facilitating the communication among those who are in the same field but from different cultural backgrounds, alongside between the professionals and the public.

Technical minded people tend to have lesser proficiency in speaking English that people can collectively understand. Hence, you always see people saying "English please" in movies when someone technical is speaking their jargon terms to them.

Furthermore, ESP also helps cater to the needs where if the person is a doctor, a pediatrician to be precise, they need to speak the "English" a child speaks because the child would not be able to understand the doctors if the doctors speak to them in "adult" language, no, "doctor" language. That said, ESP aids with register change in a professional, medical practitioner, and any other purposes as well.

In the second video, the speaker, Emily used a simple and understandable choice of words to explain her findings which were engaging. In our opinion, we found that the second video is easier to understand since we are not in the same field as hers which is pharmaceutical and she tried to minimize the use of jargon in her speech to ensure that the audiences will receive the information clearly.

Question 4

ESP is designed to achieve the learners’ specific needs for instance mastering an extensive English vocabulary on various specific fields such as scientific, judicial, political and social. Moreover, ESP refers to the teaching of the English language mostly to university students as a preparation for future employment. Besides, it is important to note that if the person has a strong command of not only the general foreign language, but in a particular area, an individual would be much more appreciated and valuable. For example, one who graduates on pharmaceutical and works as a pharmacist might have the opportunity to exchange ideas, opinions, with other people in various conferences, workshops, or even communicate in the foreign language that the person possesses if he works for foreign or multinational companies. Therefore, it is clear to see that it is a struggle to understand English and the use of English for specific purposes specifically for those who are not an expertise in a particular field.
