This is beyond egoism or narcissism this is straight up animal behaviour that men do everyday around the world because their bruised egos cannot handle rejection. This is the reason women are afraid to walk alone and it should not have to be like that. Fear should not be a norm. Raise your sons to respect and protect women don't raise your daughters to be more careful around men. It shouldn't have to be that way.
Rachel Atta-Mensah

Furthermore, this will encourage parents to treat their male and female children equally, with each child habitually practicing equality. Teaching young boys and girls at an early age that, both male and female gender are equal, is very important. For instance, a couple with a male and female child, can divide house chores equally between their children, without labelling domestic responsibilities using gender. Next, the couple must continuously teach their son to respect his sister. In this way, he develops an awareness to always respect girls and women within and outside his home.

Training will be facilitated to help the BeAction ambassadors on public speaking and excellent communication skills, to help with a smooth transition into advocacy. People would naturally incline to others that share same experiences with them; therefore, abused women will likely listen to someone that shares in their pain, as they are in sync with one another.

Joyce Mgbolu
One of our goal is to create workshops that will address domestic violence in prisons. We have plans rolling, to partner with The Salvation Army through their prisons ministry, as a start up. https://salvationarmy.ca/what-we-do/in-your-community/social-services/prison/. This way, we will understudy the process, and then go on to create our own reform system, which is the BeAction Express It Club, specifically for the prison systems, that will teach empathy through dance, arts and story telling. The plan is, to follow up the whole process and ensure there is a progression and change in the abuser's thinking on domestic violence. BeAction believes that once abusers come to see reasons why their actions, caused harm, the tendency to become sober, is likely. These activities will be expressive and allow for reflection. BeAction aims to encourage inmates to, re-evaluate, rethink and change their outlook to life, and how they see and value women. The inmates take charge of their expressive arts. Facilitators will be on ground to provide resources and guide partakers in this therapeutic activity. The activities will be available Tuesdays and Fridays, for 45 minutes. Prison wardens will give directives for fliers and posters to be pasted within public places in the building to advertise the program. The club will admit 10 inmates per session for a start, to control the crowd. Overtime, as we progress, there will be an increase in capacity. Funding will be sourced from donations, crowd funding and government grants.

People tend to want to 'get involved' because this 'mind your business' culture society has created. But do we realize how many lives could have been spared if we stayed back to help the women we witnessed being abused. When a life is on the line minding your business doesn't matter. If you see a woman being abused no matter what form it's in, reach out to her, help her find resources, Befriend her, Comfort her, call the police if need be, BeAction. Please don't mind your business. You would want someone to do it for you don't wait till its too late.
Rachel Atta-Mensah
