Take advantage of the recordings if available- if you can’t take all the notes you want in the lecture , you can always watch the lecture recording after and add in the missing notes from the recording.

Sometimes hard to keep up with what the lecturer is saying aswell as making notes from the PowerPoints so sometimes have to go back afterwards and re watch the lecture to supplement my notes

Sometimes with longer texts it’s overwhelming to make notes on every page and as I go on my notes become less and less specific and detailed

After reading through once, note down everything you can remember from the text down - I find this will often show me the most important or note-worthy parts of the source!

when making notes keep them short and simple and when listening could use symbols or numbers where possible to take notes quicker.

look at the reading questions provided by the lecturer to know what you should be looking out for
