As the financial industry rapidly develops, people who are more educated and highly skilled can find work in the financial industry and earn a highly income. So their living standards can  improve greatly. However, manufacturing workers are less-educated and low-skilled. They are not competitive in the job market. As a result of industrial relocation, many of them have become either unemployed or underemployed  (e.g below 35 hours per week in Hong Kong),although he is capable of working longer hours.), and their income has increased. Some had to switch to the service industry or take non-skilled jobs. Their income fell further. As the income gap between low-skilled workers and highly skilled workers widens, the problem of rich-poor gap worsens.
However, May and Peter cannot gain from this transformation.They may have  widens income gap, manpower mismatch, social problem and loss of talent in other areas.
They have social problems arise. The relocation of the manufacturing industry has greatly reduced the demand for local grassroots workers in the job market like May and Peter. As a result, May and Peter have become unemployed or underemployed (the situation where an employee involuntarily workers hours (e.g below 35 hours per week in Hong Kong),although he is capable of working longer hours.)May and Peter are facing more pressure in their daily lives as their income decreases.This not only may lead to family problems or disputes,but can also stir up discontent towards the government and society.
Therefore/As a result,May and Peter have social problem arise.
