Being rebellious in the 20's was seen as a disobedient and seen as an awful taboo breaker, was because we are so used to old school that staying with your husband who is cheating on you was an idea that was accepted because divorce was seen as such an awful conclusion to leave your marriage on. Yet Gatsby tried to save Daisy because he knew it was wrong, yet no one said anything or stopped it. Scott Fitzgerald captures the Roaring 20s, in a way that when The Great war ended Europe was devastated. From 1920 to 1929 marked the emerge of the United States as the premiere power in the world.
