-Another superstition that finds its origins in Chinese homonyms, the phrase for ‘giving a clock as a present’ sounds the same as ‘sending a person to their end’. As a result, clocks are a no-no for gifts, unless you’re secretly wishing the recipient to an early grave. Another variation on this superstition is that when the clock that you gift the person stops, so will his or her life.
Watches should fall under the same category, but they do have another name that doesn’t sound like death and are a common gift choice worldwide now, so they might be able to skip by on a technicality.

-This is a popular feng shui philosophy but also crosses the threshold into the realm of superstition because of the reason behind it: the Chinese believe that when we’re sleeping at night, our soul leaves our body. If it sees its reflection in the mirror at night, it may get startled, or it might believe that the reflection is the real body and try to possess that instead.

1. Don't play with a broom

-according to the older generation, having the bristles of a broom brush over one's feet is supposed to incur bad luck because brooms are used to sweep away dirt and dust. Some cultures believe that if a broom's bristles accidently sweep over one's feet, one will end up single for life or a parent would suddenly die.

2)2. Finishing rice on your plate

- If you don't clean your plate at mealtimes likely your future spouse will not be attractive. One popular version of this superstition warns that every grain of rice left on your plate = one pimple on your future spouse's face. It was a mum's trick to ensure you finished your vegetables

MALAYSIAN SUPERSTITION

1 . SITTING ON THE PILLOW

- strangely enough , this superstition does not specify as to whether cushions are included . Still , pillows are mostly meant for your head for when you sleep so woul you really want to share the pillow with your bottom ?

2 . STAY IN AT NIGHT

- children and women are often advised to stay home when night falls as the roaming spirits during the Hungry Ghosts Festival are believed to be out in full force . Spirits are more likely to be " attached " to the innocence of children and pregnant women . For those who are still out at night , avoid standing under shady trees or empty bus stops .

3 . NEVER CUT YOUR NAILS AT NIGHT

- cutting your nails in the dark will ( almost ) always lead to accidents . No one likesa bloody finger even cutting your nails too shorts will hurts sometimes . Though now that most of our homes would have proper lighting even at three in the morning , you're forgiven for rolling your eyes if this superstition is even run by you again .

2.Never cut your nails at night

-You should never cut their nails at night (or as long as it’s dark outside) as the nail cuttings would then seep into the floor, allowing spirits to take your place. Observe this, or your life will be cut short.
