Companies like Vestas and Hertz, were examples where the use of maintaining and analysing big data payed big dividends, which resulted in Vertas increasing the accuracy of its turbine placement models, and Hertz reducing time spent on processing data and improving response times. However, on the other side of the coin, companies like Sears embraced Information technology, but their implementation was not clearly beneficial (continued decline in sales)
