This year, the College of Science Student Council is proud to bring back KaSCIyahan, one of its most highly anticipated events. KaSCIyahan 2023 will be a weeks-long event where 8 institutes from the College of Science battle it out and best each other in various sporting events.

With this, the Council is looking for Point Persons and Team Captains from each of the 8 institutes. These Point Persons and Team Captains will work closely with their Institute Representatives to liaise important guidelines and information from the KaSCIyahan 2023 Team to all participants from their respective Institutes.

Point Persons from each Institute will oversee efficient and effective communication between the KaSCIyahan 2023 Team and all of their institute’s Team Captains. At most, each Institute may have 2 Point Persons with them being Co-Point Persons.

Team Captains from each Institute will relay important information, such as schedule of games and rules and regulations, to players in their respective sporting event. Team Captains will work with the KaSCIyahan Team to make sure that all games are organized, fair, and safe for all players. An Institute is expected to have 1 Team Captain for each of the sporting events. For a complete list of KaSCIyahan 2023 sporting events, please refer to the image below.

If you’re taking the Math service courses removal exams, you are required to submit a permit to your professor before 11:59 pm, January 29, 2023. (Your deadlines and instructions may differ depending on your professor, so refer to to their messages.)

Some petitioned undergraduate Math courses have been opened by the Institute. Kindly check CRS for details on these courses. General Waitlisting will be from 31 January until noon of 03 February. Departmental Waitlisting will be from 03 February (afternoon) until 20 February (deadline of ChangeMat).

7. B.S. Math students enrolling in Math 200 are requested to ask their respective thesis advisers to email their names to M.J.C. Loquias for verification.

2) “Lock Enlistment” once you have obtained courses you want/need to take. Minimum regular load for this semester is 15u. If you are still eligible for free tuition under RA10931, click “Proceed to Assessment” even if you have not yet been tagged.

3) Post-advising is done by your program adviser. This will automatically appear on their end so no need to cnotact them. However, if in a few days you are still not yet post-advised, you may email them through the contact details posted on our page.

4) On Free Electives — Free Electives must NOT be GE courses. On the other hand, free GEs MUST be GE courses.

Please be reminded of the Student Ethics Orientation for CS Students to be held this Monday, on 27 Feb 2023 from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at the IB Auditorium.

You may join the seminar physically (at the IB Auditorium, 2nd floor, Institute of Biology building) or online (Zoom webinar).

Attendance at the orientation is REQUIRED for all CS students (undergraduate and graduate). You will not be able to apply for a good moral character (GMC) certificate if you have not attended this orientation.
