Lifestyle of a Plantation Worker

The lifestyle of a plantation worker is extremely complicated. Most slaves had to wake up at the crack of dawn (4 a.m.). They then had to work until 9 pm. This was a 17 hour shift meaning they got under 7 hours of sleep a night. They worked all day in the heat and were given no breaks in slavery days. Nowadays, plantation workers still work long days, with long hours and earn very little money but it is a lot more humane.
