How and Why did your family come to the United States (1 paragraph) 10332633 https://padlet.com/10332633/vlmn6xh5g8n1e32l/wish/2187988675 My family got to the United States between the 15th-19th century and were enslaved until Juneteenth 1865. Now onto Oceanside, I moved out here in 2016 and have lived here ever since. Before Oceanside I lived in Kansas City,Missouri where I had my schooling lasting 2nd-3rd grade. Moving here was a challenge since I wouldn't be used to the weather at all. I didn't know anybody but my electric personality would allow me to make friends pretty quickly. 4th grade is where I started and it was different the people were cool and my teacher was alright, but overall it was alright. 5th grade was more or less the same but I would meet my best friend there. 6th and 7th were basically the same thing but one just had harder work.. 8th grade was special because of the whole COVID situation but I preserved nothing else I could do. I'm currently a Freshman at El Camino but you already knew that. They were a lot snottier than the people in Kansas City. But eventually I found what drew people towards me and ran with it. I made them laugh and it felt good. I also wasn't familiar with everywhere so I couldn't just go outside like I used too since I didn't know where I was going. What was going on historically in the U.S. during this time and how did it affect your family? In 2016 mass shootings were a big deal. And multiple cases of police brutality happened in 2016.
