Based on cultural factors in communication; thus, the language barrier, understanding of nonverbal gestures, and contrasting approaches towards the officials’ subordinate rank all relate to a career issue greatly. For example, indirectness that is characteristic of Japanese culture can easily mislead people who prefer direct approach; different attitude toward eye contact can negatively affect interpersonal contact in multicultural environment. Likely, difficulties can also be observed in relation to those subordinated employees coming from egalitarian cultures who directly confront the authorities in hierarchical organizations. If ignored or unresolved, those barriers may result into misunderstandings, conflict and in essence the relationship is strained. To overcome them, cultural sensitivity, listening, and promoting multiculturalism in order to encourage cooperation, restore trust and advance one’s opportunities in any given career field.

Training includes one on one interview skills and these involves working on ones ability to use or improve on the verbal and non verbal communication skills. Speaking voice and organized language can be improved by using the STAR technique of approaching common behavioral questions. Therefore, how a respondent of an interview reacts, gestured, whether he or she makes eye contact and the tone of voice requite confidence and engagement. Daily interviews help know potential flaws, for example, nervous mannerisms or unclear language during the conversation. Reviewing each practice session is also possible enabling a candidate to improve his or her interviews performance and gain better communication skills during actual job interviews.

Collaboration, compromise and accommodation are the common conflict solving techniques is important when it comes to dealing with other professionals at the workplace. For instance, agreement entails compromise that benefits all concerned, for instance when individuals in a team come up with a way of handling conflicting ideas on projects. Concession may used where two persons agree to surrender an important point because of getting another important point they want from the other person, for instance, setting of dates. In accommodation, one has to give in to the other, for instance, following a supervisor’s decision on how to allocate the limited resources. The use of these strategies aid in successful conflict resolution preventing disruption of team cohesiveness.

Having a central platform make sure all the team personnel were in par.

2. Regular Meetings:

Traditional video conferences were held once a week on Zoom to discuss progress, potential/novel challenges during the implementation of change management strategies, and the revision of timelines. It made sure that people would have the chance to express their grievances and opinions to come forward.

3. Task Management:

To share the divided tasks the team chose Trello which allowed to assign deadlines and to see the performance of each team member. This was useful in ensuring that accountability and transparency are achieved to a great extent.

4. Feedback and Review:

Persions were exercised whereby members gave critiques of each other’s assignments. This enabled us to enhance the quality of the project on the successive phase.

[Insert information from the sources gathered to fill in the blank appropriately into the blanks above.]

Challenges Faced and How They Were Addressed:

1. Miscommunication about Task Ownership:

At the beginning of the identification of tasks, some unclear issues appeared regarding assignation of the tasks, particularly when the same roles are involved. We were able to manage this in three ways, first, by including a section in the shared project document to outline who is to do what, and the second was to follow up on the document to confirm that everyone is on the same page.

2. Time Zone Differences:

Some team members were in different time zones and this caused a lot of issues with concerning time management. To cater for this, we resorted to using Doodle Polls in order to determine the convenient time to have a meeting with everyone, and flexibly altered the working hours.

3. Delays in Research Completion:

one of the member raised difficulties in completing the research on time due to some other business. In this regard, we were able to redistribute some tasks while shifting the time line on those parts that might not be so crucial to achieve core objectives.

Draft Newsletter Article: Effective Team Leadership

Introduction

Team leadership is a critical determinant of organizational performance, working output, employees’ job satisfaction, and organizational results. By focusing on organisiational development and human behaviour, leaders may effectively facilitate their teams and organisations to overcome various difficulties, work in synergy, and provide timely outcomes of all the challenges. As organizations grow, the basics of leadership become relevant more than ever in an effort to manage increasingly complicated workplaces. In this article, we review key leadership categories, approaches, and a method of how exactly they encourage exceptional employee groups.

Main Content

The Unique Features of Leadership

Some of the common behavioral competencies include; emotional intelligence, flexibility, communication among others. Flour: Self-awareness specifically and empathy in general help a leader respond well to the group processes that are at work Flexibility enables the leader work on different plans of action depending on the circumstances while petty communication defines expectations and increases reliable relationships among people in the team (Goleman, 1995)

Leadership For Teams

1. Setting a Clear Vision and Goals:

Culture is the way things are done; direction focuses on where things are done. The leaders should sit down with their subordinates in order to create realistic objectives which should be in par with the organizational goals. Various studies have indicated that where people have clear and proper goals then motivation is increased and group unity is improved (Locke, 2002)

2. Fostering Collaboration and Inclusivity:

Promoting free- for -all channel of communication, and embracing diversity enhance group cohesiveness. Leaders make sure that nobody’s ideas need to be silenced or ignored because these environments enhance creativity or innovation (Edmondson, 1999)

3. Empowering Team Members:

Empowerment involves labelling, accessing, controlling and mobilising in a team where delegation and trust are crucial. The employees that are assigned to choose tasks they are most proficient in and the leaders who offer work discretion note higher levels of motivation and performance. According to Kouzes and Posner on the use of team members’ strengths, managers need to identify them before they can apply them (Kouzes, 2017)

4. Providing Constructive Feedback:

The positive criticism of either an individual or a group positively ensures development. Supervisors must concentrate on being more prescriptive with their recommendations while being more positive in their language. It is helpful to implementing regular feedback cycles and it also comes out strongly that establishing feedback on a cyclical basis can foster accountability.

Challenges in Team Leadership

For instance, leaders are apt to face issues such as conflict, difference in personality, technology among others. Solving these involves aspects of strategic management and interactional ability. For example, conflict management training helps leaders in organizations learn how to handle conflict within organisations efficiently (Thomas, 1992)

Conclusion

Leadership in teams is very sensitive and deals with the use of several activities, skills, and approaches in trying to coordinate a group of people. In this paper I found that outlining goals, maintaining group diversity, encouraging individuals and offering feedback are some of the ways in which leaders can kindle collaborative and innovative climates. These principles are therefore important as organisations adapt and align to their new workplace environments so as to keep employees responsive and motivated.

References

Edmondson, A. (.
